Welcome to Winston's Custom Cable Assembly Wizard!
Follow these steps to build your custom cable and finalize your quote:
-
Cable Options:
- Use the filters (Cable Rating, Jacket Rating, Shielding, etc.) to narrow down cable choices.
- Enter your desired Cable Length and select the Units (Feet/Meters). This is required.
- Choose a Pinout Selection (Standard T568B is default).
- Select a preferred Color for the cable jacket.
- As you apply filters, the "Matching Cable Series" section below will update. Filters may auto-select if only one valid option remains.
-
Matching Cable Series:
- This section shows available cable series matching your filters.
- Click the "Select This Cable" button to choose a specific cable series. The selected cable will appear in the "[ CABLE ]" slot in the Blueprint Area.
- If your filters result in only one possible cable, it may be auto-selected.
-
Connectors & Boots:
- Once a cable is selected, options for Connector 1 and Connector 2 will appear in this card.
- For each connector:
- Choose the type: Male (Modular Plug/RJ45), Female (Keystone), or Open – No Connector.
- If Male or Female is chosen, a dropdown will appear to select the specific connector component.
- If Male is chosen, you can also select if you want a Boot ("Yes" or "No"). Female and Open-ended connectors do not typically use boots.
- Your selections will update the "[ Connector 1/2 ]" and "[ Boot 1/2 ]" slots in the Blueprint Area.
-
Packaging Type:
- Select how the cables should be packaged: "Individual", "Bulk Packs", "Spooled", or "Box".
- Relevant input fields will appear based on your selection. Fill in the required quantities.
- If the cable length exceeds 150 ft, "Spooled" packaging will be automatically enforced.
-
Labeling (Optional):
- Check the boxes to add labels to Connector 1 and/or Connector 2.
- Enter the desired text for each label. A per-label fee applies.
-
Notes / Special Instructions:
- Add any additional comments or requirements for your order.
-
Quantity & Cost Estimate (Right Sidebar):
- Observe the "Total Calculated Quantity" and "Total Estimated Cost" update in real-time as you make changes.
- Select a "Price Level" (for staff) to see different pricing tiers.
- Click "Detailed Cost Breakdown" to see a granular view of all costs.
-
